DEVELOPING   СOMMUNICATIVE   COMPETENCE OF MILITARY STUDENTS

The article introduces the methods of developing   communicative competence of military students at the English lessons. Communication plays a great role in teaching foreign languages.  So communicative competence is to be contributed for a great achievement in teaching process. It can increase the effectiveness oflearning the second language. Furthermore,  it is actually the skill which non-native speaker can feel the language being a successful communicator.


In the article were given interesting techniques of developing   communicative competence of military students. Furthermore, it was indicated the importance of techniques in the process of  developing   communicative competence and worked out the  exercises directed to the military sphere. Worked out techniques can serve for development of the communicative competence of military students and their fluent speech.  Communication is the most important process during the teaching process. There should be more than just presenting new grammar rules or words[2].  Being busy whole the lesson with the translation of words and teaching grammar rules are traditional ways of teaching and  makes the students lazy and bored. The process of teaching should be interesting, by this way we can increase student`s interest to the subject. Motivation is the most important in  increasing student`s interest to the subject. Teacher should do something interesting which can make motivated the cadets. So, to motivate them teacher needs something new and interesting about their sphere that can stimulate their curiosity.


Communicative competence is one of the most important competences for  producing knowledge, so if cadets do not know how to communicate successfully or how use it in native environment, their language grammar is not so important. English teacher should develop communicative competence of military students by using language appropriately in a social context. Using English in a socio-culturally appropriate way is vital way for effective communication and for immersion into an English speaking society and culture.


Using examples from real spoken language of native speaking countries, interacting with them and analyzing them before finally drawing general conclusions from the examples as to how language is used in social context are the ways of developing the communicative  competence.  Thus, by developing the communicative  competence,  military students can express their ideas on their specialty and compare with other countries` military system. Developing this competence students can comprehend the reading materials of foreign countries on this sphere, catch other talking, give response, speak fluently and write some kinds  of special topics. If the learners do not have information about foreign countries` military system,  they will not be able to communicate with others about it, express their ideas on these topics which are connected with their specialty. Not only teaching materials but teaching methods are the main factors of the effectiveness. Therefore, English teachers should choose appropriate methods of teaching[3].


Specialized materials can reflect militarylife events and professional sphere which are interesting for them. Studying the topic «Military trainings» given exercises can be examples for the development of communicative competence of military students[1].

Task 1. Cadet M. Pahmatov is now writing about his week in the life. Ask and answer questions about Pahmatov`s week. Study the examples.

Does cadet have a field training exercise on Friday?No, he doesn`t.  He has  a field training exercise on Saturday.

Task 2. Using the schedule in Task 1 as a model, draft the schedule of your week. Describe your week to the class.

 In conclusion, given exercises can provide the effectiveness of the teaching process. Materials with military context can develop communicative competence of military students.Communicative competence is one of the most important competences which can help to provide the effectiveness of the English lessons in Military Institutes.
